The Storm
Before I read "The Storm" by Kate Chopin I expected to see a lot of conflict in this story. I wasn't crazy about the pace of the story. It moved so fast. I didn't get to get to know the characters. I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cathedral
Before reading Cathedral by Raymond Carver my impressions, of course my impressions were that it would have a religious aspect to it. I had no idea that it would hold such a deep meaning. I really enjoyed this story and the relationships between the characters. Even the husband and wife bickering brought a smile to my face. Not in every way but in some ways he reminded me of my own husband. My husband is a creature of habit and sometimes can be negative about going places or meeting new people. But, putting yourself in a new situation can sometimes be scary but it also can be a wonderful new experience, such as the one Robert and the husband shared. I would definitely recommend this story to a friend or (husband). I feel like even though the husband's eyes were shut at the end they are now open to a whole new way of seeing things.

A Rose Fore Emily
My impression before reading A Rose for Emily, by William Faulkner was that it was going to be a romantic one, because of the title. I'm not sure I understood everything, and at some points I had to reread. To me this story was kind of weird, Miss Emily creeped me out a little bit. I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Tell-Tale Heart by: Edgar Allan Poe
I remember reading this story in high school. I don't think I really understood what I was reading so I was kind of excited to have a chance to read it again. Because it is by Edgar Allan Poe I knew there would be a dark vibe to the story, so that appealed to me. While I was reading it the writer definitely kept me interested on and edge throughout the story. I was a little disappointed with the ending though. I would still recommend this to a friend.
